This summer I am fulfilling a dream of mine to host a Kids Summer Art Camp. As a kid, I loved going to day camp and my favorite parts were the segments dedicated to the art and crafts. So, I thought why not put the two together and host my own Kids Crafty Summer Art Camp. So, if you're looking for a super fun, creative, safe summer outlet for your kids that is local and inexpensive...here are the details.
Crafty Summer Art Camp
When: Monday, June 21st thru Thursday, June 24th
Class Sessions: 9:00 am to 11:30 am or 1:00 pm. to 3:30 pm
Location: My House, 495 North 650 West, American Fork 801-216-4197
Pricing: $55.00 ($50 for camp, $5 for supplies and snacks)
Class Size and Age: 8 students per class, ranging from ages: 4-10
Daily Art Activities:
Monday: Nifty Art in Nature
Learning about how landscape: trees, flowers, mountains and nature are incorporated into Art and Design. Talk about Famous Nature Artists. Create nature journals, make a leaf collection, go on a nature walk and make a "natural" Art Project.
Tuesday: Make Believe with Masks and Puppets
Learning how people and cultures use Art. Discussing how storytelling and art go hand in hand. Discuss how crucial illustrators are to children's books. Children will create stories with mask and puppets.
Wednesday: Bugs and Butterflies; Art with Animals
Art in the Wild! Learning how animals use camouflage and their beauty for survival. Learn about famous artists that incorporate animals into their Art. Create "Insect Art Projects" with tissue paper.
Thursday: Pinata and Crafty Party!
Make our own pinata, face painting, water balloon fight, cookie decorating etc. Children may want to bring something to wear that can get wet!!
Note: We also will have games, snacks and other mini art projects planned.
Do we fit your schedule? If you need your kids to come early up to 1 hour, or stay later up to 1 hour, it is $5 extra per hour.
